LUCKIEST OF THEM ALL
Sometimes we witness events that are absolutely unlikely and hardly accidental. These escapologists and lucky winners are some of the luckiest people to exist on earth.
The Luckiest Unluckiest Man in the World
FRANE SELAK
This Croatian music teacher has cheated death an incredible seven times. He first escaped death when a train fell into a freezing river. After that, he fell out of a plane and somehow landed unharmed in a haystack, while 19 passengers tragically died. The man also survived a bus accident, a few car crashes, and accidentally shot himself. Finally, Frane won about a million dollars in a lottery.
The Human Lightning Rod
ROY SULLIVAN
Roy Sullivan continues to hold the Guinness Book of World Records title of being the man struck by lightning the most times. Between 1942 and 1977, he was struck seven times and lived to the tale each time. Truly an unexplained, odds-defying mystery.
The Luckiest Cinderella Team
1986 LSU Tigers
The Tigers are the only 11 seed to beat a 1, 2, and a 3 seed in the same tournament. The Tigers knocked off Memphis State, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky, in that order, in the '86 tournament. They won those by less than an average of four points per game. LSU would ultimately fall to Louisville in the national semifinal game, but Dale Brown's squad put on quite the show.
Lottery Legend
JOAN GINTHER
The probability of winning the jackpot four times is 1 in 18 septillions, meaning it might happen to one person only once in quadrillion years. Ginther has baffled scientists everywhere. She first won $5.4 million, only to win $2 million more a decade later. Two years later, she won a cool $3 million, followed by a staggering $10 million in 2008.
Good Luck!
These ladies and gents may leave you green with envy, but you may be full of luck and just don't know it yet. Maybe your lucky streak is waiting around the corner.
